Junior ACE Mentor Program is a career pathways program for middle schools that exposes students to green/clean construction, architecture and engineering careers. Students engage in several interactive, hands-on lesson plans that teach key concepts of building science and design, all taught from a sustainable and energy efficient perspective. The lesson plans have been created by a team of community college faculty and students, and can be integrated into the existing middle school curriculum and normal structure of the instructional day, or taught by Junior ACE Mentors after school. NOTE: The following Paths and Modules represent a list of modules which help introduce students to the subjects of ACE and which can build one on the other in revelation of issues involved in these disciplines. This is not to say this is set in stone, but is offered to the Mentor to give them some sense of order to the instruction and to deliver a graduated program of information for the students. The numbers represent the ascendancy, i.e.: start with 1; go onto 2; then 3; etc. If there are no numbers, then the modules can be used in any order anywhere. |
