Construction-Building Industry
The Construction-Building Industry is a generic term for all of the private and public organizations involved in the building or remodeling of various types of fixed structures. The scope of the industry includes the manufacturing, distribution, and sales of building materials, the design, management, and building of projects; and the maintenance, repair, retrofit, and replacement of parts of built structures. The industry is divided into the following segments:
- Residential: single family, multifamily, and apartments.
- Commercial-Industrial: Retail stores, shopping malls, office buildings, warehouses, & manufacturing.
- Public: schools, prisons, court houses, post offices, hospitals, etc.
Infrastructure:
- Transportation: Roads, bridges, highways, railroads, air ports, harbors,
- Power: Dams, power plants (hydro, coal, nuclear, gas, & oil), transmission lines (electrical, oil, & gas)
- Water Treatment, transmission, flood protection, and conservation
- Specialty: Sports arenas, golf courses, zoos, art galleries, entertainment arenas, and parks.

Power-Energy Industry
The Power- Energy Industry is a generic term for all of the private and public organizations involved in the production and sale of energy. The industry is divided into the following segments:
- Renewable energy industry, comprising alternative energy and sustainable energy companies, including those involved in hydroelectric power, wind power, and solar power generation, and the manufacture, distribution and sale of alternative fuels.
- Electrical power industry, including electricity generation, electric power distribution and sales
- Natural gas industry, including natural gas extraction, and coal gas manufacture, as well as distribution and sales.
- Petroleum industry, including oil extraction companies, petroleum refiners, fuel transport and end-user sales at gas stations.
- Coal industry, including mining, distribution & sales.
- Nuclear power industry: including uranium extraction, fuel refining, distribution and use to produce electricity, or power a variety of vehicles.
- Traditional energy industry based on the collection and distribution of firewood, the use of which, for cooking and heating, is particularly common in poorer countries.
